Abstract The cleaning of particles from smooth and rough paper surfaces using a high-speed CO 2 snow jet was investigated. measurements included characterization the properties, determination efficiency, evaluation any possible adverse effects. method compared with nitrogen dry by commercial materials. results showed that is able to effectively remove surface did not cause observable degradation. mechanical similar effectiveness without effects on surface. It proved technique suitable for common types
